A message to our wonderful children and families.

As a school we are devastated that we are being asked to close. For staff this is heart-breaking and however difficult the last few weeks have been, it is our children and families that have made it all bearable. We appreciate the impact this will have, not just on their education but on their social and emotional wellbeing and that of our own families.

I am so proud of how the children and all the staff have coped throughout this very difficult time.

We remain open for our most vulnerable pupils and for pupils where parents are key workers.  We do ask that other parents and children do not visit the school as we need to reduce numbers in school dramatically to stop the spread of the virus.  If you need to get in touch please use the dojo app or email me at head@edleston.cheshire.sch.uk

I shall miss you all and look forward to returning back to school as soon as possible.

Please take care and stay safe.

Welcome to Edleston Primary school website.  It has been my privilege to be the Headteacher here since 2004.

At Edleston we pride ourselves on the support and care we give our children; “The outstanding personal development and welfare of pupils lies at the heart of Edleston Primary School’s work.  Leaders and staff know the pupils very well.”  Ofsted May 2016.

We are a small, one form entry school.  We are known for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere.  Our children make good progress and learn well because they enjoy their lessons and they are exceptionally well supported by highly skilled staff.

Our curriculum concentrates on the key skills for literacy and numeracy alongside the remaining subjects in the National curriculum.  We also offer lots of extra curriculum activities, school trips, visitors to the school and special themed days and lunches. All curriculum information can be found in the class pages. Please pop into school if you would like to know more.

We work closely with parents to ensure that all our children reach their full potential and enjoy their time at primary school.  Parents are invited to family lunch days, after school activities such as bingo and special themed days such as art afternoons.

We welcome visits to the school.  If you would like to come and have a look and see Edleston in action, please do not hesitate to make an appointment.

I look forward to meeting you.

What's Happening

I hope that everyone had a lovely half term and managed to enjoy the beautiful weather.
As you will all be aware, school is opening for reception children on June 15th, Y1 on June 22nd and Y6 on June 29th.  As yet Cheshire East Local Authority have no dates for the other year groups.
There will be more information on what school will look like, but here are some of our plans.
*Children are not to wear school uniform.
*We ask that you wash their clothes at the end of every school day.
*Only one parent is to bring a child to school.
*Please do not bring siblings, unless they are in a year group that is in school.
*We will ask you to line up, 2 metres apart from the small gate near my office and out onto the pavement.
*Please can every child bring their own pencil case, which needs to be left at school.
*Children are not to bring anything into school, ie no school bags, no toys.
In reception and Y1 they will have a free school meal.  In Y6, if your child wishes to bring sandwiches they need to bring them in a disposable bag [no lunch boxes] so they can throw it all away at the end of lunch.
There will be more information for reception later this week on the website and on class dojo.
Take lots of care everyone and keep safe.
