Welcome to Edleston
Welcome to Edleston Primary school website. It has been my privilege to be the Headteacher here since 2004.
At Edleston we pride ourselves on the support and care we give our children; “The outstanding personal development and welfare of pupils lies at the heart of Edleston Primary School’s work. Leaders and staff know the pupils very well.” Ofsted May 2016.
We are a small, one form entry school. We are known for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our children make good progress and learn well because they enjoy their lessons and they are exceptionally well supported by highly skilled staff.
Our curriculum concentrates on the key skills for literacy and numeracy alongside the remaining subjects in the National curriculum. We also offer lots of extra curriculum activities, school trips, visitors to the school and special themed days and lunches.
We work closely with parents to ensure that all our children reach their full potential and enjoy their time at primary school. Parents are invited to family lunch days, after school activities such as bingo and special themed days such as art afternoons.
We welcome visits to the school. If you would like to come and have a look and see Edleston in action, please do not hesitate to make an appointment.
I look forward to meeting you.

School Policies: If you would like a paper version of any of our school policies, please request these from the school office and we will provide any requested for you free of charge.
As you will have heard on the news schools are facing huge cuts to their budgets, which will mean that they will have to lose staff and some of the opportunities that we are able to provide for our children may have to go. Cheshire East will be the lowest funded authority in the whole of the country, which is just not fair to our children.
If you could, it would be great if you could log onto “school funding consultation” and complete the survey. https://consult.education.gov.uk/funding-policy-unit/schools-national-funding-formula2/consultation/intro/ You do not have to answer all the questions. The first question askes you if they have struck the right balance in designing the funding formula. I would argue that the answer to this is no, as why should our children have less money for their education than other authorities.
If you would like to complete the survey and need help please call into the office. Thank you!
