Newsletter from Miss Goldsmith

Dear Parent and Carers,

I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the new Headteacher for Edleston Primary, and I am very much looking forward to getting to know all our pupils, parents, carers and staff. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Edleston for keeping school running effectively during the Autumn term and a special thanks to Miss Procter and Mrs Astles.

From my experience of being a teacher and Deputy Headteacher in a variety of Lancashire schools with differing backgrounds, I know that a successful, happy school depends on us all working together. As parents and carers, you make an important contribution to your child’s achievements, and I am excited to build on the relationships between you and school.

Edleston Primary has a very good reputation in the local community, and I look forward to continuing to uphold this. I am passionate about providing opportunities for your children to aim high, be curious and ensure they are challenged, nurtured, and developed to be amazing individuals who, when they leave us are ready for their next learning journey.

We have already begun to introduce some exciting new things in school, I wonder if your child has come home talking about their class Superhero or what a ‘hot spot’ day is?

So far, I have been made to feel very welcome and I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks. It has been lovely to meet many of you before and after school this week. I would like to invite you into school for an informal ‘Coffee and a Chat’ to come and meet me so I can get to know you all better. If you would like to come along on Tuesday 23rd January at 2.45pm I look forward to meeting you. I am always available in the playground before and after school so do, please come and say hello.

Warm wishes

Kirsty Goldsmith
