Miss Colette Procter - Interim Headteacher

As part of my responsibilities as the Interim Head teacher, I am a member of the governing board. Over the school year, we meet up regularly to consider the strategic aspects impacting Edleston Primary and our students. Our focus is very much us all having clarity of the vision, ethos and strategic direction for the future of the school for the benefit of the students.

In this role, I keep the board informed about the strengths of the school and any areas for improvement. We work together to deliver the school development plan, finance and to ensure the school is running to the very best of its ability. Through the day-to-day management of the school, I implement the strategic priorities of the governing board.

The role of any governor is to support and challenge the school leaders.

Our Governing Board's vision for our school is to create a safe, nurturing environment which enables each child to attain greatness and a lifelong love of learning.  We recognize that teamwork between staff, parents and children, working together with respect has the greatest impact on our children. I believe everyone has a place in the life of the school and that our school is the heart of the community.

Mr Len Simm - Co-opted Governor -

Vice Chair Leadership and Mangement & Salary and Recruitment Chair

For a number of years I worked for an international gas producing company. After taking early retirement I took up a new career in teaching at Coleg Cambria where I had responsibility for writing up and delivering bespoke courses for industry. Alongside this I also lectured on A level management courses. Whilst at the college, I was involved in various European ESF projects sharing best practices between small companies in Europe. After fully retiring I worked for the Local Authority on a part-time basis supporting families whose children had learning challenges, some of whom needed the additional support of EHCP plans.Prior to joining the Governing board at Edleston Primary, I had previous experience of governorship at another Primary School in Crewe.

I’m a mum to a beautiful girl, currently a pupil at Edleston Primary. In my current job role, I payroll hours and sort problems to ensure everybody is paid correctly; dealing with different languages/cultures. I have a very strong ethical stance and values. I believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn in a happy, fun, organised and a structured way.

An enthusiastic advocate for education, and a career marked by leadership in education, I bring extensive experience to the table. As a dedicated parent, my commitment extends to the two young minds I nurture who currently thrive within our school community. This dual perspective, coupled with a passion for fostering positive learning environments, fuels my desire to contribute actively as a member of our school's governing body. I am poised to bring organisational skills, dedication, and a genuine commitment to the continuous improvement of our school.

Mrs Joanne Davies

Co-opted Governor

I am a mum of three children, now all at secondary school and have worked in the marketing industry for 22 years. I have experience across a variety of sectors including Tourism, DIY, Industrial Gases and currently work for an Education charity.

I have volunteered for a variety of organisations, including the MCHT Charitable Trust, the NCT, the Scouts and more recently mentored a teenager in an inner city school for 12 months.

I believe that working together with the children, staff, parents and the community will have the greatest impact on the children and their future. I am a passionate mental health and wellbeing advocate and believe that all children and young people should have access to the same opportunities and chances in life and learning. I look forward to being an active member of the governing board and helping to positively impact the continuous improvement of the school.
