Welcome to Edleston

Welcome to Edleston Primary school website.  It has been my privilege to be the Headteacher here since 2004.

At Edleston we pride ourselves on the support and care we give our children; “The outstanding personal development and welfare of pupils lies at the heart of Edleston Primary School’s work.  Leaders and staff know the pupils very well.”  Ofsted May 2016.

We are a small, one form entry school.  We are known for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere.  Our children make good progress and learn well because they enjoy their lessons and they are exceptionally well supported by highly skilled staff.

Our curriculum concentrates on the key skills for literacy and numeracy alongside the remaining subjects in the National curriculum.  We also offer lots of extra curriculum activities, school trips, visitors to the school and special themed days and lunches. All curriculum information can be found in the class pages. Please pop into school if you would like to know more.

We work closely with parents to ensure that all our children reach their full potential and enjoy their time at primary school.  Parents are invited to family lunch days, after school activities such as bingo and special themed days such as art afternoons.

We welcome visits to the school.  If you would like to come and have a look and see Edleston in action, please do not hesitate to make an appointment.

I look forward to meeting you.

What's Happening

I hope you all enjoyed the warm weekend.
This week Mrs Oliver is out on training on Tuesday, looking at improving writing skills. Rev Renolds will be in Y6 on Tuesday for the last time this term. A huge thank you to Rev Renolds, whose lessons are amazing!. On Tuesday Y6 and Y5 are also planting crocus bulbs, with The Rotary, at valley Park. The Y3 curriculum workshop is at 2.45 on Tuesday and the Autumn disco is at 4.30-5.30. Please do not dress your children in Halloween clothes, as this frightens some of the children, thank you!
On Wednesday all our children will be planting crocus bulbs, with The Rotary, in our school grounds. It is also our Y2 curriculum meeting, at 2.45, in the classroom on Wednesday.
We finish, at normal time on Thursday. Children need to wear full uniform please as we are attending a Harvest Service at Union Street Church. This is at 2pm, and all are welcome. You may take your child home from the Church if you are attending the service.
I hope you all have a lovely half term with your families.
