Welcome to Edleston

Welcome to Edleston Primary school website.  It has been my privilege to be the Headteacher here since 2004.

At Edleston we pride ourselves on the support and care we give our children; “The outstanding personal development and welfare of pupils lies at the heart of Edleston Primary School’s work.  Leaders and staff know the pupils very well.”  Ofsted May 2016.

We are a small, one form entry school.  We are known for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere.  Our children make good progress and learn well because they enjoy their lessons and they are exceptionally well supported by highly skilled staff.

Our curriculum concentrates on the key skills for literacy and numeracy alongside the remaining subjects in the National curriculum.  We also offer lots of extra curriculum activities, school trips, visitors to the school and special themed days and lunches. All curriculum information can be found in the class pages. Please pop into school if you would like to know more.

We work closely with parents to ensure that all our children reach their full potential and enjoy their time at primary school.  Parents are invited to family lunch days, after school activities such as bingo and special themed days such as art afternoons.

We welcome visits to the school.  If you would like to come and have a look and see Edleston in action, please do not hesitate to make an appointment.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Rachael Bagni

What's Happening

This week please look out for our information sheet on how to keep your child safe online. This is also available on our website, if you look under the calendar section. If you have any questions please pop in and see Mrs Oliver [who used to be Miss Glover!].
We have a special visitor, from St Stephens Methodist Church, who will be taking the assembly on Monday. On Tuesday myself and Miss Procter will be visiting Y4, looking at the teaching and learning in the class. We will be holding curriculum meetings for parents before half term. Please come along, as your child’s class teacher will be able to tell you what your child will be learning this year and about age related expectations.
On Wednesday we are holding English classes for those parents who wish to learn English. This is from 9.00-10.00 and is being run by Ruth Griggs from Hope Church in Crewe. On Thursday Y4 are visiting the fire station, and will be learning about the dangers of fire. We are currently advertising for the post of Y1 teacher, to replace Mrs Martin Rhind when she goes on her maternity leave. As soon as a new teacher is appointed I will let the Y1 parents know and arrange an opportunity for you to meet her / him.
Have a lovely week!
