Governors

Meet our Governing Body.....

Mrs Rachael Bagni - Headteacher

My role within the governing body is to inform the governors about the strengths of the school and the areas that require improvement. We work together to deliver the school development plan, finance and ensure the school is running to the very best of its ability.

The role of any governor is to support and challenge the school leaders.

Miss Emma Humphries - Chair of the Governing Body.

I live and work locally in Crewe, I have 22 years in my profession and have a role I thoroughly enjoy.

I am a mum to 3 boys, all of which have attended Edleston, I am currently an elected Parent Governor.

Our Governing Board's vison for our school is to create a safe, nurturing environment which enables each child to attain greatness and a lifelong love of learning.

We recognize that teamwork between staff, parents and children, working together with respect has the greatest impact on our children. I believe everyone has a place in the life of the school and that our school is the heart of the community.

Co-opted Governor

I have a long background in education, having qualified as a Primary School teacher in 1987. I worked in Manchester for four years before moving to Cheshire where I took up a position at Leighton Primary School in Crewe. I spent fourteen years at this school, working both in mainstream classrooms and with children with moderate learning difficulties. In 2005 I moved to Cledford Infant and Nursery School as Deputy Headteacher and in 2008 I was appointed as Headteacher at Tushingham-with-Grindley C of E Primary School.

In 2011 my husband was offered a position with his company in India so we decided to move there and take up the opportunity to experience life in a different country. We returned to the UK in 2017 and since that time I have commenced a new role as a part-time Clerk to Governors with Cheshire East. I also volunteer with Citizens Advice in Crewe.

I am interested in how effective governance can inform school improvement and I am looking forward to working with the team of governors at Edleston Primary School.

Mr Len Simm

Co-opted Governor

For a number of years I worked for an international gas producing company where I latterly had responsibility for hydrogen production in the northwest and for the

distribution of chemicals and gases throughout the UK and the continent. After taking early retirement I took up a new career in teaching at Coleg Cambria

where I had responsibility for writing up and delivering bespoke courses for industry. Alongside this I also lectured on A level management courses. Whilst at the college,

I was involved in various European ESF projects sharing best practices between small companies in Poland, Portugal, Spain and Malta. Latterly I became involved in further ESF projects which looked at ways of improving teaching and learning methods for young people and adults with learning challenges – again involving sharing best practices within the EU but mainly in Poland. After fully retiring I worked for the Local Authority on a part-time basis supporting families whose children had learning challenges, some of whom needed the additional support of EHCP plans.Prior to joining the Governing board at Edleston Primary, I had previous experience of governorship at another Primary School in Crewe.
